Croatian Wine Regions

According to the Wine Act in force since April 1, 2019, Croatia is divided into 4 wine regions – Dalmatia, Croatian Istria and Kvarner, Central Croatia with Hills, and Slavonia and Croatian Danube region. Croatia’s natural richness of mountains, forests, rivers, and a long and intricate coastline on the warm Adriatic Sea creates a plethora of different terroirs that provide wine diversity and enable a relatively small country to produce almost all styles and types of wines, competing in quality on the global stage.

Slavonia and Podunavlje

The wine region of Slavonia and Danube differs little from the geographical area of the region itself. It is located in the most agriculturally developed part of Croatia, and is bordered by real wine meccas – Kutjevo, Đakovo, Orahovica, Slavonski brod and Iloka.
