About winery
Indijan Winery, located in Potomje on the Pelješac Peninsula, is a family-run winery with a long tradition dating back to 1975, when it was founded by the grandfather—the first private winemaker on Pelješac. The name “Indijan” originates from a family nickname tied to a legend about ancestors who drowned in the Indian Ocean.
In 2016, the winery embraced a new era, introducing modern technological methods, new labels, and aging wines in wooden barrels. Their vineyards are located in the prestigious Dingač region, combining young vines with 45-year-old ones. Dedicated to the indigenous variety Plavac Mali, they offer four labels on the market: Dingač Barrique, Dingač Prestige, Plavac Mali, and Postup.

Ivan and Juraj Violić
Ivan and Juraj Violić, brothers and young entrepreneurs, are at the beginning of their winemaking journey. In addition to managing the winery, they run a family hotel that operates from May to September, dedicating the rest of the year to winery work. Juraj oversees the hotel, while Ivan is in charge of procurement.
Other family members also contribute to the winery’s operations, and the brothers have ambitious plans to rejuvenate old vineyards and plant new vines, focusing especially on white grape varieties. Their story is a blend of family tradition, innovation, and a passion for viticulture.
