About winery
The Miloš Winery, located in Ponikve on the island of Pelješac, is a family-owned estate cultivating 20 hectares of land, of which 15 hectares are vineyards, with the remaining five dedicated to olive groves and Mediterranean herbs for tea blends. The Miloš vineyards rise above Ponikve and Prapratno at altitudes between 200 and 350 meters, set in rocky terrain where every task is done entirely by hand; not even small motor tillers, let alone tractors, can access these terraces.
Their estate boasts 100,000 vines and produces about 70,000 bottles of wine annually. Plavac mali is the winery’s signature variety, while Stagnum is its crown jewel. Since 1992, Stagnum has been available in three varieties: dry, semi-sweet, and dessert. This wine undergoes long aging, and the current vintage is from 2015. In addition to Stagnum, the regular Plavac mali, also carefully matured, ages for four to five years before reaching wine enthusiasts.
Alongside their red varieties, the winery is also proud of its white wine made from the Rukatac variety, known as Stalagmit, from 2017. This nearly amber-colored wine comes from high-altitude vineyards and undergoes natural fermentation with native yeasts.
