About winery
The winemaking and viticulture tradition of the Pecotić Baran family dates back to ancient times, passed down through generations. Since 2009, the winery has undergone modernization while preserving the authentic spirit of production inherited from their ancestors. The family vineyards are located in Smokvica on the southern side of Korčula Island, benefiting from ideal Mediterranean climate conditions. The varying daytime and nighttime temperatures enable excellent grape ripening, resulting in wines with distinct aromatic profiles. Covering 1.3 hectares, the vineyard hosts around 10,000 vines, growing the white variety Pošip and the red variety Plavac Mali. The Pecotić Baran family winery produces around 7,000 liters of wine annually. Since 2021, they have been bottling their wines and offering tastings at their winery, providing visitors with an authentic experience that showcases their family tradition and commitment to quality.
