Veralda Winery

Founded by the Visintin family back in 1938, Veralda winery is located in the most renowned viticultural area of northern Istria, on the famous Buje hills between Buje and Brtonigla. The winery’s name is derived from the position of the vineyards located directly adjacent to the wine cellar, considering that the surname Visintin is widespread in Istria.
Their vineyards are spread across hilly terrain with a gentle slope towards the south at 120 to 220 meters above sea level. These 26 hectares of cultivable land receive optimal conditions due to the proximity to the sea, ample sunshine, and close proximity to the cellar, allowing for quick grape processing after harvesting.

Veralda winery’s innovative spirit and commitment to authenticity in croatian winemaking are exemplified by their team’s discovery of the sensational teran rosé, made from the robust istrian indigenous variety, setting the style for further production of Istrian rosé and later sparkling wine.

In addition to the mentioned indigenous grape variety, Veralda winery produces other Istrian indigenous varieties such as malvasia and refosco. They focus on crafting fresh wines, nurturing the terroir of the Buje hills of Istria, and practicing organic production.
Their wine portfolio boasts 10 different labels, among which is Xtrian, a refosco that received a platinum award from Decanter with 95 points.
With an annual production of 150,000 bottles, operations include a laboratory for basic wine analysis to improve production quality in all its phases, earning Veralda winery an organic certification.
