About winery
Established in 1991, Hvar Hills Winery boasts one of the largest vineyards on an island in the Mediterranean. With 30 hectares dedicated to grapevines out of the total 242-hectare plot, the majority being the renowned Plavac mali and Bogdanuša varieties. Situated on the sun-kissed southern slopes of Hvar, the vineyard benefits from triple insolation from the sun, stone, and sea. Following ancient traditions, all vineyard work is done by hand, preserving the unique forked shape of the vines for optimal ventilation and sun exposure. The winery’s roots trace back to 385 BC, when Greek settlers planted the seeds of viticulture on the island, a tradition that flourishes to this day.
