About winery

The tradition of viticulture and winemaking in the Bura family dates back to 1860. Throughout history, the family’s production has been shaped by historical circumstances, and its market access has evolved over time. In 1995, Niko Bura introduced a wine under the family label. Today, Bura Winery, with its rich generational experience and professional approach to production, offers wines under the labels: Bura Dingač, Galerija, Plavac Mali Sivi, Plavac, Rukatac, and Ruža Dalmatinska.
Bura vineyards are located on gravel terraces rich in minerals, with potassium being the most notable, facing south towards the sea on slopes of up to 50 degrees, at elevations ranging from 300 meters to 150 meters, in a climate with typical Mediterranean flora and fauna.
The richness in potassium is probably the most important factor responsible for the quality of the grapes and Dingač wine.
Također, u suradnji s obitelji Benmosche iz New Yorka, Bura vinarija sudjeluje u proizvodnji Benmosche vina: dingača i zinfandela.

About

Marija Mrgudić

For the Bura-Mrgudić winery, it was never in question whether the family winemaking tradition would continue, as both Marija’s mother and grandmother were involved in the business. Both became widows at an early age and had to prove themselves in a male-dominated world, a challenge that Marija herself would face. Born Bura and married to Mrgudić, Marija Mrgudić not only continued the family tradition but also paved the way for other women in the wine world, including her daughter Antonija, who manages the winery, while her son Boris is more focused on management.
