About winery
The Matković Winery, located in Potomje on the Pelješac Peninsula, opened its doors in 2003. Led by Petar Matković, the family enthusiastically revitalized abandoned vineyards, began planting new ones, and equipped a small winery. The establishment of the family farm (OPG) in 2003 laid the foundation for the production of wines from the indigenous variety Plavac Mali, grown on prestigious locations such as Župa Pelješka – Sutandrije, Dingač-Zaškoj, and Dingač-Drme. In addition to Plavac, the family successfully cultivates the French variety Marselan, and their wine L’Amour is unique as it is made from 100% Marselan. They also offer Prošek, a dessert wine made from carefully selected grapes from Dingač, dried in a ventilated attic. From 100 kilograms of grapes, only 10 liters of Prošek are produced, which then ages for two years in an oak barrel. Today, they manage 35,000 vine stocks, with plans to expand to 40,000 and focus on white varieties. With an annual production of around 8,000 bottles and 5 labels, they offer vineyard tours and wine tastings at their tasting room.
