About winery
The PZ Putniković Winery, located in the eponymous village on the Pelješac peninsula, brings together 144 winemakers from Putniković, Žuljana, and Ponikve, dedicated to grape cultivation. Processing, refinement, bottling, and marketing of the wines are carried out through the cooperative system. Each year, they produce between 800,000 and 1,000,000 bottles, with the native Plavac Mali variety dominating their selection. In their newly renovated stone building, the House of Winemaking Tradition has been established—a 300 m² space that combines a museum exhibition area, a modern tasting room, a retail space, and a souvenir shop. The tasting room accommodates 60 guests, while the outdoor terrace has a capacity for 80 visitors. Among their premium wines, the standout labels include Plavac Mali Lirica, named after an islet that resembles the traditional string instrument lyre, and Libertas, a champion wine that earned the prestigious title at the 2011 Sabatina event. In addition to Plavac Mali, the winery also offers the white wine variety Maraština.
