About winery
Toreta Winery, located in Smokvica on the beautiful island of Korčula, is a family-run boutique winery dedicated to producing wines from indigenous grape varieties such as Pošip, Rukatac, and Plavac Mali. The winery’s story began in 1997 in the Baničević family cellar, where they opened their doors to share their winemaking heritage with the world. The winery is run by Frano Baničević, with wholehearted support from his sister Martina Marelić, who shares his passion for wine and family tradition. Their vineyards span 4 hectares, with an annual production of an impressive 50,000 bottles. The winery offers five wine labels: the fresh Pošip Toreta, the elegant Plavac Mali Toreta, the exclusive Toreta Sur Lie, the semi-sweet white wine “Principessa,” and a dessert wine made from Pošip. Visitors are invited to enjoy unforgettable wine tastings in an authentic setting, blending tradition, quality, and a passion for viticulture.
