About winery
The Ventus winery has been engaged in wine production through its own family farms for 30 years. It was founded in 2019 in the village of Vrisnik in the heart of the island of Hvar with the motto “together we are stronger.” Ventus emerged from friendship and created the perfect product from the vineyards.
The vineyards are spread across the southern side of the island of Hvar (around the towns of Ivan Dolac and Sveta Nedjelja) and on the northern side of the island around the village of Vrisnik, where the entire production and distribution of ecologically certified wines begin. Quality is given top priority, so the annual production capacity is around 30,000 bottles of wine.
The logo is inspired by the compass rose, and each wine bears the name of the wind characteristic to the vineyard’s location. Wines are crafted to nurture the expression and character of indigenous Hvar varieties, and through continuous improvement of production processes and knowledge, Ventus wines unite the past, present, and future.
The dominant varieties are plavac mali, bogdanuša, žilavka, prč, trbljan, and pošip, and all grapes are locally sourced. Wines can be purchased in restaurants, shops, wine bars, and of course, at the winery itself, which is open for visits from May to October, every day from 13:00 to 21:00.
