Wine and technology experts at Craft Technology have extensively researched the new EU Regulation 2021/2117 to provide a comprehensive solution for winemakers worldwide. This regulation stipulates that all wines sold within the borders of the European Union must include information on allergens, energy value, ingredients, and nutritional values. Importantly, allergen and energy value data must be listed on the physical label, while ingredient and nutritional value information can be displayed through QR codes or web links.

In light of these requirements, the Croatian company Craft Technology has developed cloud-based software called Craft Technology e-Labels. This innovative tool enables easy data input and QR code generation for wines. What sets Craft Technology apart from other solutions on the market is the fact that they come from the wine industry. Collaborating with vineyards through the eCommerce and Wine&more platform has allowed them to deeply understand the challenges winemakers face.

Dario Drmač, CEO and co-founder, emphasizes that the key to their solution lies in providing added value to every winemaker. Craft Technology doesn’t just offer software as a service but also comprehensive “turnkey” support, including consulting. In the guide “Wine e-Labels Explained in Simple Language,” Craft Technology provides useful information, including a list of laboratories where winemakers can conduct wine analyses to gather the required data.

Ivan Kovačević, co-founder and COO of Craft Technology, highlights that they have already noticed interest from winemakers from various parts of the world, especially from renowned wine countries like Italy, France, and Spain, as well as from the UK and the USA. Craft Technology offers flexible packages depending on the number of labels winemakers want to cover. Their knowledge base and support, including the guide, represent an important source of information for winemakers facing challenges in complying with EU regulations. Through their comprehensive approach, Craft Technology sets new standards in supporting winemakers in achieving regulatory compliance while simultaneously easing their daily operations.
